My newest niece:
OLIVIA FAITH BERNAL
BORN NOVEMBER 2ND 2009
8 lbs. 15 oz. 21 inches
My mom and dad left Sunday morning for my Grandpa's funeral in El Paso Texas. I didn't go in case Emily needed me to be here for the baby because Loren is still at the border patrol academy in New Mexico and could not leave for the birth, which is a good thing because at about 5 o'clock Monday morning the phone rang. It was Em saying she thought her water broke but wasn't sure because it was a slow leak. Well we talked her into going to the hospital which was a good thing!! She had Miss Olivia at 12:22 that afternoon. It was the most AMAZING experience ever!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOO Grateful that I was there to witness it. I have never been at the other end of a birth before. Emily was AMAZING!! She had almost a 9 pound baby without an epidural!!! She was soooooo strong. I was so proud of her. My poor mom and Loren were calling every 15 minutes wanting updates and dying because they couldn't be there. Loren's mom and I were there with her. The hospital has a new rule that only 2 visitors can come the whole time they stay there because of the high risk of the swine flu. So they put wristbands on us and we were the only ones permitted on the unit the whol time she and Olivia were there. They did giver permission to bring all the kids to see the baby through the nursery window. That night I took Emily's kids and we had a blast!! I am one proud Aunt right now. Olivia is perfect. She is an absolute DOLL!!
