Lately........

So my little precious Addie girl lost our camera. So unfortunatley I don't have pictures to post but I need to post what has been going on before the details leave my mind, because I am a little flighty!!
So the biggest milestone lately is that Addie started 2nd grade and Koley is a big KINDERGARTNER!! I was so dreading school starting because I LOVE having them home with me, but also because I was a little worried about Koleman going to school. When he was first diagnosed with Aspergers (high functioning Autism), his doctor that diagnosed him suggested that when he started school to have an IEP for him. Which is an Individual Education Plan for children with special needs. So we set one up for him but weren't able to have it until the day after school had already started. So I was a little nervous about who his teacher was going to be and how prepared she would be for him. Luckily the first couple days of school they only have the Kindergartners come for a little treasure hunt to get to know their classroom and it only lasts about 45 minutes. So they didn't officaly start until Monday. Anyways a week before school started I got a phone call from his teacher. Telling me about herself and who she was. So I told her about Koleman so she could have a little more adavanced notice about him. To my surprise she too, has a son with Aspergers, and one with full on Autism! I was so excited because I knew she would know exactly how to deal with and help my little Koley boy!! My mind was put at ease BIG TIME!! So the following week we had back to school night on Wednesday which was the day before school started. Well that day before we went to back to school night, we get a call from Mrs. North our new AMAZING principal saying that in the last couple of days they had 20 new kids come and register for 1st grade, so they needed to make a whole new class and the only teacher that was qualified to teach 1st grade was Koleman's! So she had to go down to the school district and hire a new Kindergarten teacher for Koleman's class that day!! My heart sank!! I was once again soooooooo worried. Mrs. North assured us that she felt really good about her and thought she would be great with Koleman. So when we went to back to school night we walked in and met her and immediatley I felt so good about her. She came and introduced herself and I asked her if she knew about Koleman and she said Mrs. North told her a little bit. So I told her a little more and as I was talking to her I found out that she has a son with Autism!! What are the odds!! I had already felt better while talking to her but then when she told me that I felt GREAT about her! She too would be able to help Koleman so much! Until you have your own child with the same kind of thing you never can fully understand. Anyways it was also crazy because she reminds me EXACTLY of Koley's doctor that works with him and diagnosed him who we LOVE!! Heavenly Father is so in tune with us it is absolutely AMAZING! I KNOW He hears and answers our prayers! Koleman went today for his third full day and he is LOVING it, and Mrs. Iverson his teacher told me he is doing great!! I LOVE Bloomington Hills elementary! It truly is the best school EVER! They have the most amazing staff.
Miss Addie girl has the most DARLING teacher as well!! Her name is Mrs. Carlson and she by far is my favorite teacher Addie has ever had. Addie absolutely adores her! So she is loving school and I know they are going to have an awesome school year!!
I LOVE BEING A MOM!! It is the BIGGEST blessing ever!! I am so grateful Heavenly Father has entrusted me with these to AMAZING little spirits!!!
Hopefully I can post pictures of their first day of school soon!!

It is amazing how Heavenly Father works. I have always had the teacher who my kids needed the most at the time. They haven't always been the teacher that I have liked the best but it was who that kid needed at the time. I am so thankful that is how it has worked out. I think that Heavenly Father will bless you with the same.

Wow! I had no idea that he'd been diagnosed with Aspergers. That is so cool that he has a teacher that understands. Pretty amazing how it all worked out.

You do have amazing kids! Scotlynn had Mrs. Carlson and we LOVE her! She always smiles and Scotlynn said she laughs all the time. She too has been my favorite teacher. I'm so glad that Koleman has a great and understanding teacher. Definitely a blessing!
