I have been horrible at blogging! Sooooooo much has happened since the last time I posted. Unfortunately I can't find my camera and a all of our recent pictures are on it! I will find it though and post the pictures later. So first things first, on June 8th Kevin and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. Then on the 18th Addie turned 8!!!! We moved into our own house the week after her birthday. We are renting a cute little house in desert sands which luckily is in the school boundaries. Then on July 10th our precious little Addie had her special baptism day! She was baptized by Kevin, and we were able to have her own little baptism so that my whole family could be here. The summer went really fast and we had a good time with my family here most of the summer. The kids had many sleepovers with their cousins and lots of fun playing, swimming, and just being together. School started on August 11th. We had a rough start this year. I had to fight tooth and nail just to get Koleman an I.E.P (individualized education program). I was so worried about him because he is now in 1st grade and sooo many changes happen their first grade year. Addie also had a hard time for just a few weeks trying to figure out little friendships, and getting used to her new teacher. Kevin and I also started school and then both of us got jobs as well. Our lives are absolutely crazy!!!
I have to write about my job and how it came about. I know with ALL my heart that we have a Father in Heaven who lives and loves us!!! So Koleman still hadn't had his I.E.P yet and was struggling at school. His teacher was only there for a couple of weeks and then had a baby and has been on maternity leave. So he had A LOT of changes. The first few weeks after Mrs. Corpaci had gone on maternity leave, I got at least a couple of phone calls a week from the school telling me they needed me to come to the school to help calm Koleman down. It was really really hard on me and especially hard on poor little Koleman. I worried so much I couldn't sleep. I just didn't know what to do to help. I would always think it would just be so nice if I could just be at the school all day, not right with Koleman, but there if they needed me, and also for my peace of mind.
In the mean time of all of this, Kevin got laid off from Big Foot Pest Control, and we were extremely worried about how to make ends meet, especially now with a house. There is no way we wanted to move back in with ANYONE!!! We were at a loss about what to do. We knelt down and said a prayer on a Wednesday of this particular week. On that Friday I had a room-parent tea at the school where the room-parent meets with the teachers to discuss what they the things they need us to do. Anyways, I picked up the kids at school and was just going to run them home and head back to the school for the tea. When we got home Koleman started having a meltdown because he had forgotten a book at school. I told him we would hurry and run grab the book before I had to go to my meeting. I just left the kids in the car and ran into the school to get the book. When I was walking down the hall to his classroom, Mrs.Phillips (who works at the school) passed me and said, "Hey aren't you Koleman's mom?" I told her I was and she proceeded to tell me that they had a job that they would really like me to consider taking. She asked if I had a minute to talk with her and Mrs. North. Of course I did!! I hurried and called Kevin to come get the kids, and then I went and met with them. They told me they would like me to be a kindergarten aide for these little intervention kindergarten classes they created for kids that are behind. Then they told me the days and hours and it was unreal because they fit PERFECTLY into my school schedule!!!! How meant to be!!!! I would be at the school a lot of the day so if Koleman needed me they could just come find me, and I would also get a little income to help with our bills!! I have been LOVING my job and LOVE the children I work with! They are so sweet and have such cute little personalities!!
That following week Kevin got a job with Diamond Ranch Academy. It is a place where they send troubled teens. He is a supervisor over a group of boys. He works really crazy hours so between school and both of our work schedules we hardly EVER see each other! But we know that there is a light at the end and we just try to keep that in mind! What a BLESSING!!!!!
We also finally had Koleman's I.E.P a few weeks ago, and he is doing SO WELL!!!! I absolutely LOVE our principal, Mrs. North, our special ed. lady, Mrs. Hanson, and his teacher Mrs. Corpaci and his subsitute Mrs. Whetherford!! They all were there and ALL came with so many ideas and were so willing to do all they can to help Koleman.
This post is soo long, I obviously use this for my journal so I am surprised if anyone has read this all!!! Hopefully soon I can post some pictures of all our latest events!!
